About Us

Jo Laugharne has worked as a Drama teacher in schools both in England and abroad for over 30 years, teaching students across the board including GCSE and A Level. During her school career she directed several plays and musicals.

Jo was employed for several years by the Oxford Summer College to lead workshops in public speaking to international students.

She created the Heads Up Theatre Group in 2012 and runs drama and Lamda classes both at home in Blewbury and at Wallingford School. She has achieved a 100% per cent success rate with all students taking Lamda exams.

Jo also works as a GCSE Drama examiner, and can work on a consultancy level. She was hired to create the KS3 Drama curriculum for St Birinus School, Didcot, in 2015, and worked with students preparing for GCSE and A Level exams at the Oratory School, Reading, in 2017.

She has also run the youth theatre classes at Cornerstone, and directed for the Oxfordshire Youth Music Theatre in 2019.

Jo will be assisted in some group Drama sessions by her daughter Myfanwy, currently studying at The Henley Sixth Form College.

 

Myfanwy has been involved in drama and theatre for most of her life, through Heads Up classes, Lamda lessons and several Blewbury Players productions.

 

Myfanwy also teaches at Betty Bloom Dance and has assisted at the Blewbury Pre-School Playgroup.
